"Pello Pickler" is a at-home pickling tool designed to encourage cultural culinary exploration in the younger generation, and lower the barrier of entry to understanding holistic health and food fermentation. Fermented foods is a staple of the human diet for many cultures, whether it comes from a history of food and ration preservation, or health-oriented concepts such as gut and digestion. However, the cooking aspect can often be intimidating and clumsy, downplaying the benefits of the art.
The product includes a modular pickling container and food container set designed to comfortably fit within any fridge, with any lifestyle, and any diet.
Originally conceptualized for young working professionals and students in mind, the Pickler is meant to help foster a better, more mindful relationship with food with equal ease and appreciation.
The included experience kits include pre-portioned seasoning and ingredients, and an informative guide to help introduce the nuance behind fermentation and flavor depth, a valued (but difficult to understand) principle for pickling enthusiasts.
Each design kit will introduce a traditional method of pickling from a variety of different cultures, and explore the aesthetics, history, and experience of each with the user's enjoyment in mind.
